My third grade teacher inspired what career I wanted to pursue and how to do it. She was always very loving and understanding. She made learning so easy and fun that you would regret missing her class for a doctor's appointment. Third grade is when I realized learning can be exciting and wanted to help others feel the same way. I've always known that I wanted to become an educator. I look forward to the days that a student can feel comfortable and welcome in my classroom that they could come talk to me about anything. I'm excited to see the "lightbulb" above a student's head light up when they finally understand what I talk about.
Though, everyone feels it is necessary to tell me that I better have a rich husband or that I must love to overwork myself, I couldn't be more ecstatic to work with these children. Not only to help them understand the subjects, but to help them by encouraging their creative outlets, protecting the class, and being someone they look up to.
I am interested in teaching the third grade. The subject I would like to teach would most likely be English or science. I sometimes find myself daydreaming of how my classroom would be set up and decorated. Galaxy/stars have always interested me but I also want a bright setting. I definitely want to teach in a nice town instead of city. The traffic, accidents, big buildings, and interstates do not win me over. I grew up in a small town and it always felt safe and comfortable.
As I learn more about this career and the preparations needed, I look forward to the adventure of becoming someone that might have an impact in a person's life. To be able to spread my knowledge and passions to others is moving.
